The YZ12X adjustable Piston-Type Pressure Reducing Valve is primarily used in various building water supply systems, fire protection systems, central air conditioning systems, and heating systems. It is designed for pressure reduction in branch pipes; once adjusted, it ensures more balanced pressure distribution and optimizes water supply efficiency in high-rise buildings. Its installation can replace pressure-zoning or variable-frequency water supply systems, thereby reducing pressure loads on water fixtures in lower zones, conserving water, and effectively preventing valve failures caused by debris blockages.
How It Works
The YZ12X adjustable piston-type pressure reducing valve consists primarily of a valve seat, main valve disc, piston, upper and lower piston mechanisms, springs, and other components. By adjusting the spring pressure, force is applied directly to the main and auxiliary pistons, causing the valve disc to move downward and clear the valve seat—which is machined directly from the valve body—thereby forming a water passage. The outlet pressure acts on the bottom surfaces of the two pistons, creating an upward buoyancy force that drives the valve disc upward to seal against the valve seat, thereby shutting off the water flow. When the upward buoyancy exceeds the spring set value (equivalent to the outlet water pressure), the spring is compressed, the valve disc closes, and the outlet pressure is maintained at the set value (with a variation of only 8% of the inlet pressure change); when downstream water is used, the outlet pressure drops, and the tension of the compressed spring pushes the valve disc away from the seat, opening the pressure-reducing valve and automatically replenishing the medium according to consumption.
