The YB13X Proportional Pressure Reducing Valve is also an automatic valve. This valve utilizes the pressure difference created by the differing cross-sectional areas on either side of the internal floating piston to adjust the pressure conditions of the inlet and outlet water, thereby achieving pressure reduction. The YB13X proportional pressure reducing valve features an attractive design, wear- and corrosion-resistant internal components, precise proportional control, and smooth operation. It is widely used in domestic water supply and fire protection zone water supply systems.
Structural Features
The YB13X proportional pressure reducing valve primarily consists of a valve body, inlet gland, piston, outlet gland, O-rings, gaskets, and other components. The valve body is composed of two parts connected via internal threads. The valve contains a lampshade-style piston with several circular holes at the bottom; the bottom surface is fitted with a seat (nitrile rubber) that seals directly against the valve body. This valve features a precise and innovative design, ensuring smooth operation (stable water flow, noise-free), a compact profile (saving installation space), and ease of installation. It provides stable pressure reduction, effectively reducing both “dynamic pressure” and “static pressure.” Constructed from solid brass or stainless steel, it is suitable for both fresh water and seawater, and is resistant to scaling and corrosion.
How It Works
In the YB13X proportional pressure reducing valve, the floating piston is pushed open by the flow of the medium at the inlet, allowing the medium to pass through. The pressure difference caused by the different cross-sectional areas on either side of the piston alters the pressure downstream of the valve; in other words, when the pipeline is pressurized, the ratio of the areas on either side of the piston determines the ratio of the pressures upstream and downstream of the valve. Regardless of how the upstream pressure changes, the static and dynamic pressures downstream of the valve are proportionally reduced to the corresponding pressure values.
