The D972F Electric High-Performance Butterfly Valve is suitable for applications involving frequent opening and closing cycles. Thanks to its excellent sealing performance, long service life, and sleek design, it has successfully replaced traditional butterfly valves, ball valves, and gate valves in numerous applications. It is used in: medium-temperature water systems, compressed air systems, vacuum systems, corrosive media, and olefin media. The electric high-performance butterfly valve features a double-offset design and utilizes a variety of materials, including those compliant with NACE requirements and resistant to erosion. The valve offers reliable sealing performance, broad operating conditions, low operating torque, a long service life, and safety features for fire prevention in special operating conditions. It is widely applicable for common media such as water, gas, and oil, as well as industrial media in the food and pharmaceutical sectors, and corrosive media in the chemical industry.
Product Features
- The double-eccentric design features two eccentricities—one in the valve stem and one in the disc—which ensures that the seal disengages the moment the valve opens, reducing friction loss and extending service life. The double-eccentric disc, combined with an arc-shaped seat, results in a mechanical friction coefficient of just 0.07 at the sealing surface. This minimizes wear, allows for smooth and effortless opening and closing, and effectively extends service life, achieving 200,000 cycles without failure and 2 million cycles without metal damage.
- “Grooved” arc-shaped O-rings:
- A: Seal material: Depending on the temperature and pressure of the medium, glass fiber or carbon fiber (PTFE, RTFE, FPT) can be added to achieve higher performance.
- B: By effectively utilizing the deformation of the “grooved” arc-shaped seal, the valve seat undergoes slight deformation when the valve disc closes, creating an elastic seal that ensures uniform pressure distribution and leak-free operation.
- C: When the valve disc is closed, the deformation of the “C”-shaped structure effectively utilizes the pressure of the medium flowing in both directions to achieve a bidirectional, non-discriminatory seal.
- The axial packing with a V-shaped interlocking design achieves a self-sealing effect under the axial pressure exerted by the packing gland, effectively preventing external leakage. It is suitable for applications involving frequent opening and closing cycles.
- The valve shaft is connected to the valve plate via a side pin, which effectively enhances the shaft's strength (the valve stem's shear resistance).
- Both ends of the valve shaft are equipped with specially designed wheel-hub-style open positioning rings, which effectively prevent the valve shaft from moving up and down when the valve disc opens or closes, thereby directly preventing the valve shaft from striking the actuator and causing air leaks.
- After the edges of the butterfly valve disc are chrome-plated, they undergo multiple processing steps, including CNC machining, grinding, and electropolishing, resulting in a seal surface finish of Grade 11 (mirror finish).
- The valve chamber is equipped with an over-torque limit device to prevent the valve disc from closing too far due to excessive actuator torque or other unexpected situations, which could damage the seal and cause internal leakage.

Widely used in industrial sectors such as metallurgy, chemicals, power generation, light industry and textiles, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and papermaking, as well as in municipal engineering and water treatment plants, these valves are used to shut off or regulate the pressure and flow of media such as tap water, wastewater, oily liquids, air, coal gas, natural gas, and steam.
