Product Description

YB83X fixed-ratio pressure reducing valve: Grooved connection, piston-type design, with a rubber seat sealing surface; nominal pressure PN10–PN16. The fixed-ratio pressure reducing valve consists of a valve body, inlet gland, piston, outlet gland, O-rings, sealing gaskets, and other components. Proportional pressure reducing valves are typically selected to ensure that the design flow rate falls within the linear segment of the flow-pressure characteristic curve, thereby maintaining a proportional relationship between the pressure downstream and upstream of the valve. These valves feature a precise and innovative design, smooth operation, a compact and lightweight construction that facilitates installation, and a stable pressure-reduction ratio—effectively reducing both "dynamic pressure" and "static pressure." When the valve body and valve core are made of stainless steel, they are suitable for use with clean water and gases.

How It Works

When water flow ceases in the downstream pipeline, the pressure behind the piston increases, causing the piston in the pressure reducing valve to lose its equilibrium and move forward, thereby closing the valve. When there is no water consumption in the downstream pipeline network, the valve is closed, and the pressure ratio between the upstream and downstream sides of the valve is a constant value; when a fire hydrant or sprinkler is activated in the downstream pipeline network, the upstream pressure exceeds the downstream pressure, causing the piston to move backward and opening the pressure reducing valve. The pressure in the downstream pipeline network decreases as the flow rate increases (in accordance with the flow-pressure characteristic curve) until an equilibrium position is reached, at which point the piston stops moving. The YB83X fixed proportional pressure reducing valve utilizes the pressure difference created by the different cross-sectional areas at both ends of the floating piston inside the valve to alter the pressure conditions between the inlet and outlet, thereby achieving pressure reduction.
