Product Description

The cyclone desander is a sand removal device that combines cyclonic separation and filtration. This product is primarily used to remove solid particles and silt from groundwater, including geothermal water and other water sources. It is suitable for water-source heat pump systems, central air conditioning circulating cooling water systems, chilled water systems, winter heating and cooling circulating water systems, and industrial cooling circulating water systems. It is widely used in many industrial sectors, including chemical processing, environmental protection, and food processing, and achieves significant results in water treatment applications such as sand removal, turbidity reduction, solid-liquid separation, and silt separation.

How It Works

The cyclone desander operates on the principles of centrifugal sedimentation and density differences. When water enters the unit tangentially through the desander inlet under a certain pressure, it generates intense rotational motion. Due to the difference in density between sand and water, the combined effects of centrifugal force, centripetal force, buoyancy, and fluid drag cause the less dense water to rise and be discharged through the outlet, while the denser sand particles are discharged through the drain port at the bottom of the unit, thereby achieving the goal of sand removal.

Product Features

  1. It has a simple design, is easy to operate, is safe and reliable, and requires virtually no maintenance.
  2. Compared with desanding equipment such as expansion pipes and buffer tanks, it offers advantages such as a compact size, high processing capacity, and space savings on-site.
  3. It can remove sand particles from the water without interrupting the water supply.
  4. It prevents the secondary water pollution associated with other sand removal methods and offers high sand removal efficiency.

Applications

Cyclone desanders are widely used in ground-source heat pumps, water treatment, the food and pharmaceutical industries, industrial mineral processing, solid-liquid separation, liquid degassing, and the separation of immiscible liquids, as well as for sand removal from river water, well water, and coal washing water.

Important Notes for Model Selection

When selecting a cyclone desander, factors such as the water treatment capacity, external connection pipe diameter, operating pressure, raw water quality, and post-treatment water quality requirements must be considered. Generally, when selecting a cyclone desander, provided the flow rate requirements are met, larger models should be prioritized. It is also recommended to use several units in parallel within the system instead of a single large unit to achieve better solid-liquid separation.

Important Notes for Installation

  1. Cyclone desanders should be installed on the main pipeline of the water supply network and secured to a foundation; a bypass must be installed between the inlet and outlet pipes.
  2. To ensure a steady flow of incoming water, a straight pipe section with the same diameter as the equipment’s inlet should be installed upstream of the inlet, with a length equal to 10–15 times the diameter of the inlet.
  3. When installing the equipment, ensure that there is sufficient space around it for maintenance.
  4. During normal operation, open the inlet and outlet valves and close the drain valve and bypass valve.
  5. Depending on the amount of sand in the raw water, periodically flush the system to remove sand and debris. To flush the system, open the drain valve until clear water flows out; the flushing process does not affect normal water use in the system.
  6. After draining is complete, close the drain valve.
  7. If the sand-discharge pressure is insufficient, close the valve at the outlet.
