The GLH45X grooved flow limiting check valve is primarily used in parallel pump systems and is installed at the pump discharge outlet to limit the pump’s operating flow rate and prevent backflow when the pump is shut down.

How It Works

1. Flow Limiting Function: This valve is installed at the pump outlet. When a single pump is started or when not all designed operating pumps are in operation, it limits the flow rate of the multiple operating pumps, enabling the pumps to operate at higher efficiency; it prevents motor overload when the pump operates at low head, high flow rate, and low efficiency; it prevents motor burnout due to current exceeding the rated value; and it also provides some energy-saving benefits. How It Works: Based on the pump's design head, the pilot valve automatically detects and controls the pump's actual operating head to limit the pump's flow rate and reduce the motor's load. The valve is set to a control head; when the pump's operating head falls below the control head, the valve closes to increase the actual operating head. When the pump's operating head exceeds the set head, the valve opens fully, resulting in minimal valve resistance. The control air head can be set based on the motor's rated current or on high-efficiency operating conditions. The valve's operating head setting is adjustable; the factory default setting is typically the design operating head.
2. Check Valve Function: The check valve function of this valve is fully equivalent to that of a low-resistance slow-closing check valve, with no closing noise and zero backflow. This valve is primarily installed at the discharge outlet of a pump in a multi-pump parallel configuration to limit the pump's operating flow rate and prevent backflow when the pump is shut down. The valve features a pilot-operated main valve design, offering a compact structure and relatively light weight.
