Product Description

A bladder-type water hammer arrester (also known as a rubber bladder water hammer suppressor) is a device designed to absorb residual pressure caused by water hammer in piped water supply systems. During the conveyance of water and other media, water hammer—a phenomenon caused by fluctuations in pipe pressure resulting from the non-steady-state characteristics of valve opening and closing, pump operation, sudden changes, and flow surges—frequently occurs, particularly in high-rise buildings. In addition to generating annoying noise and vibration, severe instances of water hammer can disrupt the operation of the entire system and damage other equipment. This valve effectively absorbs the high-pressure shock waves generated by water hammer, thereby regulating the pressure within the pipeline and protecting it from damage. It is widely used in various water supply and drainage systems, including industrial facilities, enterprises, high-rise buildings, and power plants.

How It Works

Principle of the bladder-type water hammer arrester: Under normal flow conditions, water flows through the piping via a perforated tube and exits from the other end of the piping. When the water flow pressure exceeds the elastic strength of the telescoping liner and the pressure exerted by the air bladder on the telescoping liner, the telescoping liner bulges irregularly toward the air bladder. When the water flow pressure is less than or equal to the air bladder pressure and the elastic strength of the telescoping liner, no bulging occurs. The water flow pressure inside the valve body is transmitted to the expandable liner via the perforated tube. Due to the elastic strength of the expandable liner and the pressure exerted by the air bladder, the expandable liner provides rapid and effective buffering against the instantaneous pressure of water surges. This regulates the pressure within the pipeline. Note: The optimal air bladder inflation pressure is 70% of the operating pressure. This pressure can be adjusted by inflating or deflating the air bladder via the nozzle valve. Before installation, tighten all bolts to ensure the equipment functions properly. Tip: This product achieves optimal performance when installed downstream of a check valve equipped with a slow-closing or noise-reducing mechanism.
