Product Description

The CARX-16Q composite air release valve is installed at the highest point of a pipeline or in areas prone to air pockets to remove air from the pipe, thereby clearing the line and ensuring normal operation. If an air release valve is not installed, the kinetic energy generated by the flowing liquid within the pipe can produce gas, creating a short circuit that prevents the pipeline from achieving the required water discharge capacity. Furthermore, if a power outage or pump shutdown occurs while the pipeline is in operation, negative pressure may develop in the pipeline, potentially causing pipeline vibration or rupture. The vent (or suction) valve rapidly draws air into the pipeline to prevent such vibration or rupture.

How It Works

During the pipeline filling phase, a large volume of gas flows into the composite air release valve. At this point, the large vent orifice inside the valve opens rapidly to allow for quick venting. As the water level in the pipeline rises and gas pressure increases, the small vent orifice begins to operate, releasing trace amounts of gas. When the pipeline is filled with water and the gas has been largely vented, the float rises due to buoyancy, closing the vent orifice to prevent water leakage.
