Product Description

The SQD-type multi-purpose fire pump connector is a device used to connect fire trucks and motorized pumps to a building’s fire water supply system for the delivery of firefighting water and other liquid fire extinguishing agents. It addresses the challenges fire trucks face when extinguishing fires in high-rise buildings, as well as situations where the building’s fire water supply pipes experience insufficient water pressure, resulting in inadequate water supply, no water supply, or intermittent water supply. They are typically installed in densely populated areas and locations where firefighting is required, such as factories, warehouses, docks, freight yards, and public spaces in high-rise buildings. The product features a well-designed structure, reliable performance, and ease of use.

How It Works

When water is supplied to the fire protection system, the pressurized water flows sequentially through the fire pump connection’s inlet, body, elbow, check valve, relief valve, and gate valve to the site. The check valve prevents backflow; the relief valve ensures that the pressure in the pipeline does not exceed the specified limit, thereby automatically protecting the pipeline; and the gate valve is used to open or shut off the water flow.

Installation and Use

  1. Before installation, remove any dirt or debris from the fire pump connection and the connecting pipes to prevent leaks.
  2. During installation, handle the valve with care to avoid damaging its components.
  3. To use the system, first close the drain valve, open the gate valve to its maximum position, remove the cap, connect the fire hose, and supply water from the fire truck to the fire pump coupling. Firefighting operations can then be carried out using the indoor hydrant, fire hose, and fire nozzle. After extinguishing the fire, open the drain valve to drain any remaining water, and replace the cap.

Maintenance and Care

  1. Regularly inspect all components of the multi-purpose fire pump connection to ensure they are in good condition and that all valves open smoothly. After each use, apply lubricating oil to the gate valve stem.
  2. Check that the gaskets at all joint surfaces are in good condition, and replace any damaged ones immediately.
  3. Promptly remove any obstacles near the multi-purpose fire pump connection.
  4. After use in winter, open the drain valve, drain all remaining water, and secure the cover to prevent the unit from cracking due to freezing.
  5. Repairs and maintenance must be performed by qualified personnel.
