The U41S-16C cast steel flanged plunger valve features a plunger surface machined using a high-precision external cylindrical grinder, and its sealing ring is made of a new type of non-toxic sealing material with high elasticity and wear resistance. This ensures reliable sealing and durability, thereby extending the service life of the plunger valve. Flanged plunger valves can be manufactured in accordance with ANSI, Japanese, or Chinese standards. When installed on steam pipelines, these valves ensure zero leakage at the stem, making them one of the most commonly used valves in boiler steam systems. The absence of fluid loss improves energy efficiency, enhances the safety of production equipment, reduces maintenance costs and frequency, lowers operating costs, and provides a clean and safe working environment.

How It Works

In a cast steel plunger valve, when the handwheel is turned, the valve stem drives the plug to move up and down reciprocally within the bore frame, thereby opening and closing the valve. The plug and the sealing ring are designed with an interference fit. By adjusting the flanged bolts in the gland, the sealing ring is compressed, generating a lateral force that seals against the bore surface of the valve body and the outer circumference of the plug, thereby ensuring the valve’s tightness.

When opening or closing a plunger valve, the plug moves slowly within the seal ring, resulting in virtually no wear on the contact surfaces.
The sealing ring is made of a new type of non-toxic sealing material with high elasticity and excellent wear resistance, ensuring reliable sealing and long-lasting durability.
An interference fit is used between the plunger and the sealing ring in the valve, ensuring the valve’s seal integrity and eliminating both internal and external leakage.
When closed, the plunger engages with the lower seal, blocking the flow path; when open, although the plunger disengages from the lower seal, it remains within the upper seal, maintaining isolation from the outside environment and preventing leakage.
