Product Description
How ANSI Flanged Ball Valve Work: The operating principle relies on rotating the valve plug to open or close the valve. Ball valves are easy to operate, compact in size, and can be manufactured in very large diameters. They offer reliable sealing, a simple structure, and easy maintenance. Since the sealing surface and the ball surface are typically in a closed state, they are not easily eroded by the medium, making them widely used across various industries. Two-piece flanged ball valves offer unique advantages, such as frictionless operation, wear-resistant seals, and low torque requirements for opening and closing. These features allow for the use of smaller-sized actuators. They are widely used in demanding applications within the petrochemical and municipal water supply and drainage sectors.
How It Works
The closing element of an ANSI flanged ball valve is a perforated ball (or partial ball) that rotates with the valve stem to open or close the valve. Ball valves are primarily used in piping systems for shutoff, distribution, and changing the direction of media flow. The ball in a flanged ball valve is floating. Under the pressure of the medium, the ball displaces slightly and presses tightly against the sealing surface at the outlet end, ensuring a tight seal. Among various types of valves, Ball valves offer the lowest flow resistance. When the valve is open, the passage through the ball, the valve body, and the connecting pipe are of equal diameter and form a single, unobstructed path, allowing the medium to flow through with virtually no loss.
Product Features
- It is easy to install and can be mounted in any direction at any point along the pipe.
- High-quality seal materials are resistant to high temperatures, high pressure, and corrosion.
- The internal passages of the valve body are smooth and even, allowing for the conveyance of viscous fluids, slurries, and solid particles.
- Widely used for a variety of media, including water, steam, oils, nitric acid, acetic acid, oxidizing media, and urea.
